Introducing Remus

IMG_6715

Remus is one of rescued kittens looking for a home.  He is from one of the older litters, and we are thinking he is around 20 weeks old.  He recently got a clean bill of health from the vets and his first round of vaccinations.  So, he is very ready for a forever home.

Remus is a very relaxed kitten.  He enjoys being combed and petted.  His favorite toy is a orange plastic practice golf ball and he loves what we call “kitten plinko” where we bounce cat treats down the stairs for him to chase and catch.  He would make a great addition to an existing cat family or a first cat for a family.  He is rather vocal, especially at dinner time.  He will let you know when he is ready to eat.

If you can help Remus find a forever home, please let us know.

Introducing Leo

IMG_6673

I’d like you to meet Leo.  Leo is a cat that was rescued from a bad situation, but you would never know that from his personality.  He is a very loving and tender cat.  For a while, we thought he had been declawed.  When we play with him, he will grab you, but never with his claws.  He has stretched up my leg and drug his feet down, but never used his claws.  Fortunately, he is not declawed, he just doesn’t use them, except on his scratching pad.  By not using his claws, he has the softest feet you’ve ever felt.  His coat is a medium length,  but not too thick, just nice and soft.  He does have a few scars from his past. We don’t know how it happened, but when we got him, he had a large scar down his front leg and across his shoulder.  We’ve had our vet check them, and now they are healed and the fur has grown back over the scars.  You’ll notice in the pictures that his left eye reacts to the camera differently than his right eye.  This is because he is blind in his left eye.  Again, we don’t know the history of this, but he does not let it bother him at all.

Leo has been fixed, vaccinated, and tested negative for worms, FIV, and feline leukemia.  He is as ready for a new home as he can be.

Leo is a very sweet loving boy that just wants someone to love him, a lap to lay in, and a hand to pet him.  Can you help give Leo a forever home?  Contact us through this blog if you can.IMG_6629IMG_6632IMG_6638IMG_6639IMG_6644IMG_6649IMG_6652IMG_6667IMG_6673IMG_6676IMG_6677_CroppedIMG_6678_CroppedIMG_6679_Cropped

Romeo Memorial Rescue – Class of July 2011

This is the inaugural group of rescues for the Romeo Memorial.  Please help us find great forever homes for each and every one.

First up Leo.
Leo 4

Leo is approximatly 1 year old neutered male.  He recently got neutered and a clean bill of health. He does have two cuts, one on his shoulder and one down his leg.  These have been cleaned and examined by the vets and are healing nicely.  Leo is also blind in one eye.
He does not let any of that or his rough past bother him.  He is talkative, loving, and wants nothing more than to just be petted and loved on.  He would make a great first time cat or an addition to cat family.

Now we have 6 little kittens ranging from 7 weeks to around 10 weeks.  These are still a little shy, but they are socializing well and getting used to people.  They are very playful, full of energy, and very smart.

Luna and Remus were a little camera shy, but both are warming up to humans and have no problem at all being handled.

If you are interested in more information on any of these kittens, please contact us at rmrescue@comcast.net.

In a perfect world, every home would have a pet, and every pet would have a home.
